TITLE: Extended School Day (ESD) After School Activities Program Coordinator

TYPE OF POSITION: Part-time; 2023-2024 school year

STIPEND: $3000

LOCATION:  Middle & High Schools, Hopkinton, Massachusetts

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All qualified candidates

 

The Extended School Day Program Coordinator oversees the Extended School Day program, coordinates after school activities and provides direct and consultative services to intensive needs students (grades 7-12) participating in the program.  The Extended School Day Program Coordinator reports to the principal(s) and the Director of Student Services.  

 

DUTIES:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  1. Coordinates the instruction of life skills, social skills, and vocational skills through a variety of after school activities;
  2. Collaborates as needed with community agencies to ensure appropriate programming and coordination;
  3. Applies appropriate knowledge to curriculum/content instruction (including behavioral and ABA approach to instruction), plans lessons, monitors students’ understanding of the curriculum/content and adjusts instruction and materials, using data-driven techniques, as appropriate
  4. Other duties, as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

To be considered qualified for this position, candidates must have the following:

  1. Licensed, or eligible for licensure in Intensive Special Needs, at the appropriate level, by the Massachusetts Department of Education;
  2. Meets all Massachusetts Department of Education Standards for Highly Qualified Teacher;
  3. Previous experience with vocational, life skills, and social skills instruction;
  4. Previous experience teaching students with intensive special needs, using an ABA approach:
  5. Bachelor's Degree, Master’s preferred, from an accredited college or university, in a related field;
  6. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to children and adults;
  7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state certification requirements.
