TITLE:  Audio Visual Technician 

TYPE OF POSITION: Contingent (as needed for events); salary commensurate with experience (range $30.00-$35.00/hour)

LOCATION:  District; Hopkinton, Massachusetts

The Audio Visual Technician will be responsible for setting up events in large meeting spaces, running sound, lighting and video during live events or broadcasts. In addition, the AV Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of AV, Broadcast and any related control equipment.  The Audio Visual Technician reports to the Director of Technology, with input from Technicians and other constituents.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. General understanding of audio, video and lighting for live events, and 1-2 years experience with same;
  2. Familiarity with Dante, NDI, Shure Wireless Workbench preferred;
  3. Ability to troubleshoot AV related issues with Behringer X32 mixing console, Ion XE lighting console, Dante audio networking, wireless microphone frequency management, NDI, Tricaster video switcher;
  4. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff, directors, and Hopkinton’s technology department;
  5. CTS, Osha-10/20/40, Hilti, Lift certifications preferred;
  6. Live sound/video experience in a corporate event setting considered a plus;
  7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or Director of Technology may find appropriate.

 

DUTIES:

  1. Interfaces with staff and district departments, as needed, such as the superintendent, principals, school committee members, and community members who rent performance and classroom spaces; 
  2. Configures and trains small-to-medium systems (such as digital audio mixers, lighting consoles, Dante, NDI, PTZ cameras and controllers, Tricater video switcher);
  3. Provides on-site technical support for staff and community members utilizing district spaces, such as the Athletic Center, High School and Middle School auditoriums, or cafeterias.
  4. Other duties, as assigned.
