TITLE: Technology/Engineering Teacher; Long-Term Substitute
TYPE OF POSITION: Full-time (1.0); anticipated start 2/24/2025 through the end of school year; salary $150.00 - $283.18/day
LOCATION: Middle School, Hopkinton, Massachusetts

The Technology/Engineering Teacher provides learning experiences in the technology/engineering area, and develops in each student an awareness of the role of technology and engineering in economic and social progress; motivates each student to apply knowledge of the engineering design process to solve problems; and discovers and develops special talents of students in the technology and engineering fields.
DUTIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provides learning experiences in Technology and Engineering, guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements, while creating an environment that is conducive to student learning and involvement. Monitors students' understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusts instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate;
- Evaluates, tries innovative approaches, and refines instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies available to teachers, to increase student learning, involvement, and confidence to learn;
- Demonstrates appreciation for and sensitivity to, the diversity among individuals and strives to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning;
- Maintains and improves professional competence through attendance at professional development events, and by self-generated activities that meet district expectations and the requirements for re-certification;
- Shares responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of his/her grade/team/department, building and school district, attending all faculty and committee meetings as required, and district-wide committees as needed;
- Other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered qualified for the position of Technology/Engineering Teacher, candidates must have/be:
- Licensed, or eligible for licensure in Technology/Engineering, in the assigned grades, by the Massachusetts Department of Education, to include SEI endorsement;
- Bachelor's Degree, Master’s preferred, from an accredited college or university, in a related field;
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to children and adults;
- Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies;
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state certification requirements.
